Every year, my family has a big thanks giving dinner but we do it at different houses each year. A few years ago, my aunt Janie became a part of the family again after being missing for almost eight years. She wanted to have the dinner at her house this year, so we did. She had quite a large house so every one could fit. I loved exploring new places that were foreign to me because I found out so much stuff. The way my aunt acts, I bet she has a lot of stuff to hide so I would have fun in her house! My mom baked apple pie, brownies, and chicken legs. We were now heading over to aunt Janie's and I was excited, not for the family or food, but for the mysteries. Maybe I would find out why she was 'gone' so long or why she wouldn't allow any one up stairs.
We pulled up to her house, it had four stories and a lot of land. The back yard was fenced in and there was an old shed about 17 feet from the house. When we got inside, I made sure no one was paying attention to me so I could make my escape up stairs. It took me a few minutes but I finally made it upstairs. Some of the doors were blocked off and the bathroom had red stains every where. I opened the bath room closet and a knife fell onto the floor with what seemed to be blood stains. I started assuming that aunt Janie was a murderer, or maybe she didn't know the stuff was here. I was making my way up to the third floor when I heard talking up there. I continued walking anyways. I was finally on the third floor which was one big room, maybe like a living room. I started to get suspicious as to why I heard talking but no one was up here, The third floor had no rooms, doors, windows, or anything except carpet. I brushed that off my shoulder and out of my mind and went up stairs. It was really pretty upstairs. Maybe the prettiest floor in the house! There was silk curtains and fluorescent furniture. It smelt of roses and perfume which smelled kinda good. I started walking around and found a book and a pen laying on the coffee table. I sat down on the red sofa and began reading the journal. The first few pages were alright but when I started to read the sixth page, the only words I read were "I killed" before I heard aunt Janie's voice coming up the stairs. She didn't know I was up here so I shoved the book up my shirt and acted like I was asleep. She was now up stairs, on the couch, and looking at me. She began crying. I heard her whispering to herself because she thought I was asleep, "Oh Madison, you remind em so much of my daughter Madeline before she died. She had bright/golden brown hair like you and the softest blue eyes." She started rubbing her fingernail along my back bone, then i 'woke' up because I didn't like where this was going. She was going to kill me! I bolted downstairs to my parents and held on to them for a while. Soon, I went outside to the mysterious shed I saw when we arrived. The door was locked but the lock was so old and barely got messed with for a while. the lock just came off when I pulled on it. I slowly opened the door and I was amazed at what I saw! It was a little girls body with blood covering her throat. I immediately ran inside and made my parents come back to the shed with me. When I opened the door, their mouths dropped and they whispered, "Madeline." It was aunt Janie's daughter... My mom ran inside, grabbed Janie's hand and drug her outside. She started yelling and cussing at aunt Janie because she murdered her child, my moms niece. After my mom was done yelling at my aunt, she called the police and explained everything. Aunt Janie then went to jail for life time.
I knew my aunt was weird but I didn't know she was that weird, I guess that's why she went missing for so long, she didn't want any one to find out about her murder case!
