Photos

It was a pretty day outside today so i decided to go  take some pictures at my local park about five minutes away by foot. I gathered my photography equipment and headed out. I only spent an hour taking photos because my friend wanted to meet and discuss her wedding, I’m her photographer. I took about twenty, maybe eighteen photographs and they all turned out pretty decent except for a few of them. There was a strange man or woman in six of my photos. They had black pants, black shoes, and a black coat but I couldn’t see their face too well because they got further away in each picture I had of them. I always take doubles of my pictures so that I have one to edit and one that’s normal. I looked at the doubles of the photos with the figure in them and it wasn’t there. This began to worry me a bit because only a vampire or a ghost could disappear that quick. I called my friend and asked if we could meet up over dinner instead of lunch to discuss, she said yes. I walked back to the park with a different camera to see if that would work, it didn’t. With these photos, the figure thing kept getting closer and closer. The thought of having vampires in North Carolina is scaring me because last time there was, to many people died so I had to kill twenty vampires, twenty of my people, my friends. I no longer feed on human blood because I’ve learned to control it, to keep my secret a secret but this unknown vampire coming back could interfere with that. I left my photography equipment at home this time and went back to the park to confront the vampire person and find out who they actually are. I sat for almost an hour and a half, nothing happened. No mysterious creature, no one dressed in black passed by. Now I thought someone was messing with me so I got up and tried to walk back to my house when there it was. My height, dressed in black and standing here in front of me, Elizabeth Pierce. “What are you doing here, Elizabeth?” I demandingly asked because I expected a response. “None of your business.” Elizabeth said then dashed away. Elizabeth was my twin vampire sister who I thought I killed but I guess I didn’t. I gave up on her several years ago and I’m giving up again. I walked home, head down, trying to find a reason why she would come back. I got to my house and walked in and to my surprise, there she was, sitting on my couch, petting my dog and staring at the wall. “So you decided to come home and stop looking for me I see.” She said, “Why are you here?!” I asked, totally ignoring what she told me. “Aren't you glad to see me, Annabelle?” I rolled my eyes, “Do you really want an answer to that?” I crossed my arms and sighed, “Someones a tad bit feisty.” I put all my weight on my left leg and stood there until she finally answered, “Fine! I’m here because I found a way to get mom back.” Our mom was locked away a while ago and we haven’t been able to get her out. Our dad died before he became a vampire so there was no saving him. “How? We’ve already tried just about everything we know and we have failed all times.” She smirked, evilly, “Witch.” I dashed towards her, pushing her against the wall, “You know that vampires and witches are mortal enemies. Any chance they get, they’ll kill you and don’t think they won’t.” I let her go and she ran out of my house, into the cold, dark night. What if Elizabeth actually lets my mom out? I kind of don’t want her out because she’s weak from lack of blood so any human in her sight will die. Any chance at freedom she gets, she’ll abuse it. I have to stop Elizabeth. I figured she would go to where the burial of my mothers chamber was so I ran there, didn’t take long. I quietly walked down the stairs but that didn’t help me much, “Decided to join me?” Elizabeth asked as if she wasn’t surprised. “I’m not joining you, I’m telling you this is a bad idea.” She rolled her eyes and a girl walked down the stairs with a book in her hand. “You know you want mom back too. Don’t act like it doesn’t hurt you that she’s gone.” I laughed, “It doesn’t hurt. It doesn’t phase me because I know that she’ll go crazy, she’ll kill anyone in her path and not think twice about it. She’s going to abuse the freedom you give her even if you were her favorite child.” She turned to the lady who was most likely the witch and said, “Do it.” She started saying some random words like a spell and the wall opened and there she was, our mother, the most powerful vampire there ever was. Elizabeth fed her some blood and as soon as our mom, Elena, got stronger, pretty much back to normal, she darted out of the cave and where she went, we have no idea. “Told you so.” I said laughing, “Now you have to find her and figure it out from there.” I walked out of the underground cave and ran back to my house because I knew she would ask me for help but I’ve fixed to many of her problems in the past. I grabbed my laptop and began editing all of my photos from today and trying to take Elizabeth out of the photos with photoshop. I felt a breeze go past me but I ignored it because I thought it was elizabeth trying to scare me into helping her, it wasn’t working. It was around noon so I fixed me some lunch and went to grab my laptop off the couch but that wasn’t the only thing on my couch… “Hey there, Annabelle.” Elena said. “Mom…” She stood up and smiled, “I’m not locked away anymore, we can be a family again!” I nudged myself out of her arms and rolled my eyes, “That’s the point mom, I do NOT want to be a family again. I have taken care of myself this long so I’m pretty sure i’ll be fine. Just worry about Elizabeth, we all know she was your favorite child considering i’m the one that locked you away.” She smiled and grabbed my throat, “You have made your choice and I have made mine. We can be a family again or I’ll kill you.” She threatened, “Fine. Kill me.” She let me go and disappeared before I could attack her. I locked her away because she couldn’t control herself. She killed nearly thirty people in one day and she wouldn’t stop so I had to trick her and lock her up. She even tried to kill Elizabeth before I turned her into a vampire but she doesn’t know that, that’s why Elizabeth let her go. I let this all brush past me because I didn’t want anything to do with my mom. I always hated being in a house when I was mad so I grabbed my camera and headed to the lake even though it was forty five minutes away, I didn’t care. I was careful taking my photos this time because I didn’t want to have my mom or Elizabeth in these photos. I blacked out almost twenty minutes into taking photos and woke up in a random room that let no light in. Must have been my moms house or Elizabeths. Once I regained consciousness, I started freaking out trying to find my camera when I heard someone talk, “Don’t worry, your camera is right here, even put it in the bag for you.” Elena said. I looked and saw her face and jumped a little because her mouth and face area was covered in blood. “Why are you doing this?!” I asked her as I was cleaning up her face, “I don’t know, I just have a craving for blood. I’ve been locked away for almost one hundred years.” I shook my head and sighed, “So how did I end up at your house? I was taking photos.” She stood up, “Because I brought you here, I need your help.” I dropped the bloody towel from cleaning her face and walked out of the house but I couldn’t go any further, I dropped straight to the ground because the sun was burning my skin. Elena pulled me back inside, laughing, “You think you’re going to get away? Well you’re not, I took your necklace because I knew you would try to leave.” The necklace my mom took off of me allowed me to be able to go into the sunlight. “What do you need help with?” I asked, still in pain. “I need you to help me, Annabelle. When Elizabeth let me out, she didn’t shut the door so four more dangerous vampires got out.” My eyes got wide, “How am I supposed to help?! You’re the strongest vampire.” She grabbed my camera, “This. You found Elizabeth with this so I need you to help me find those other vampires as soon as possible.” Elena said. She handed me the camera and my necklace with a smile, “Please.” I put my necklace on and headed back to the lake to continue taking photos. I didn’t want all these vampires here and all these people dead so I decided to try and find them so I went to the park and the forest then I went home and uploaded the photos. Out of the two hundred photos I took, only six had black figures in them. These vampires weren’t quite as smart as most because they didn’t try to hide their faces, good thing you don’t have to be smart to be powerful, There were only two vampires that I found, they just appeared in a lot of my photos. I invited my mom over and showed her the two vampires I found. They were her parents, Bonnie and Johnny. She knew they would come to her and that they knew the other two vampires would follow right behind them so we met them in the park, two wooden stakes in each hand. They got closer and we drove the stakes right through their hearts, “Are you sure that’s all the vampires that got out?” I asked my mom. “I was stuck with them for almost one hundred years i’m pretty sure I would know who was in there.” My mom said sarcastically. “So… What’s up with Elizabeth?” I asked, trying to ignore her rude remark. “She doesn't know anything about this and she doesn't need too." I nodded my head in agreement. I took my mom home then headed home myself to make dinner and edit the good photos I got from today. Some of the photos that the black figures were in were actually pretty good but I couldn't edit them out that good. I called my mom after trying to edit the pictures with the vampires in it, " hey mom." "Hi." "Next time I'm taking photos, you and Elizabeth need to stay out of my way because I can't edit you out." "Fine... Then you need to tell me when you are going to take pictures so I know when to not annoy you.." She laughed then hung up.

snow day

The snow started coming down pretty hard, it grew really quickly so school got cancelled for the kids. I got a call a few minutes later from my older brother, Jonathan. He asked me to watch his two middle school kids, Tom and Mandy. I couldn't drive over there because my car wasn't strong enough to get through all this snow, so I walked. His house was only ten houses down from mine so I got there pretty quickly. He left for work because even though the snow was building up quickly, government jobs still had to work today. He didn't feed them breakfast because he was in a rush so when they woke up, I explained everything and fixed them breakfast. They had pancakes, eggs, bacon, and orange juice, sounded pretty good! "Why didn't dad call out of work?" Mandy asked. "Well, I'm not sure. He works in the government so there's probably a lot going on that they have to deal with." I told her. "He never spends any time with us, it sucks." Tim said, "That's why we found out his secret. Probably why he decided not to call out of work." Mandy said. I gave her a weird look, "What do you mean 'his secret'" I asked her. "We've already said too much." Mandy said and they ran out of the room, outside. I brushed that off my shoulder and sat down by the fire place to watch some TV. Almost an hour later, the kids came downstairs and sat down beside me, "Do you really want to know dads secret?" Mandy asked, "Sure." I said. "Well.." Then the phone rang, "Hold on." I answered the phone, "Hello?" it was Jonathan. "Hey, this is Jonathan. Do you mind telling the kids I won't be able to make it home tonight? and do you mind staying the night there so they aren't alone? I'll pay extra." I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, sure." I told him then I hung up and walked over to the kids, "Tom, Mandy, Your dad said he won't be able to make it home tonight, he has some things he has to take care of." Tom got mad and stormed up to his room, "Um.. okay?" I said and looked at Mandy. "So his secret.. The case they're working on at his job right now is about a murderer but what they don't know is that dad is the murderer that's why they can't find out who it was because they wouldn't expect someone who works with the government." Then Mandy got up and stormed to her room also. I sat for almost twenty minutes, still in shock. I ordered the kids dinner, pizza and they had soda for a drink. The next morning when Jonathan got home, i was already awake. He went to hand me my money for babysitting his helpful children. I snatched the money and walked out of the house and ran through the snow to my house. He called me almost two hours later asking me what's wrong and I told him to never call me for anything again because he's a murderer then I hung up. He called back again and I told him if he didn't stop calling me, I would have him arrested because I knew he was the murderer for his case at work. He was silent for a few minutes then asked me how I knew it was him, I didn't answer, I hung up. I decided not to tell the police or any one but to hold this against him. I called him that night because I was going to ask for money so that I can buy some new clothes for parties and concerts. When I called him, the kids answered and they told me he wasn't home, they didn't know where he was or when he left. I turned around to go get my car to go find him but I didn't make it far because there he was, a knife at my throat and a smile on his face.

last day of school

It’s the last day of school, some people crying, others sitting around like nothing matters. We were in last period, which for me was an elective so I got a free class period. The announcements came on at 2:28, “Have a great summer!” Then the bell rang at 2:30. Everyone stormed out but I stayed after because I had to clean my stuff out of my locker. I got almost all of my stuff out  of my locker and it was 2:45, my best friend, Rylee, came running up to me, “Tess! you have to come with me right now!” I got a scared look, “Why? What happened?!” She grabbed my arm, “It’s a matter of life and death now lets go!” Our cafeteria was all the way down on the first level of the school, we were on the third. We stopped a few steps before we got to the cafeteria, "Tess, remember freshman year when I told you I would have a huge surprise for you when we graduated senior year?" Rylee asked, "Yeah" I said. "I know you never got a chance to meet your idols a few weeks ago because you weren't feeling so well so well so..." She opened the door to the cafeteria and a HORRIBLE smell came out. I thought there might have been dead people every where but I walked in further to see my idols standing there, In the middle of the cafeteria, staring at me. I started crying and turned to look at Rylee, she was smiling and I ran and gave her a big hug. When I started to go give them a hug, I smelled a horrible smell again but just a little bit different and a little more fresh. I started walking and asked if they smelled it too, they did. I walked into the hall way leading to the basement, the bottom level of our school, the smell definitely got stronger. Me and Rylee told the singers to stay upstairs just in case anything happened and it did. As soon as we walked into the basement there was a pile of dead bodies sitting in front of the air conditioning vent, no wonder why the school smelled so bad. We covered our noses and walked down a little more to see if anyone was down there, to see who was killing all these people inside a school. We were half way down the stairs when something or someone reached out from under the stairs and tried to grab my leg but Rylee saw it first and stepped on it! My face went pale white like I had seen a ghost and me and Rylee darted back up the stairs and ran into the cafeteria. "What's going on down there?" the singers asked, "Oh, nothing. Want to go get some food or something? and leave this school?" Rylee asked. We left the school, for good, and went to get chick-fil-a then went to the movies. We decided to watch the maze runner and there was very little people int he movie theater so we sat all the way at the top, everyone else was towards the bottom except for one man. When the movie ended, the man didn't budge, then he turned around and looked at us, it was the man from the school, the murderer. He got up and started walking towards us, we backed up a little and got closer to each other with fear in our eyes, "You kids know I'm not actually killing people, we're using your school for the filming of a movie. We all let out a sigh of relief, "Then how did the bodies smell so real?" The guy smirked, "Maybe their real and it's not a fake smell." We all screamed, "I'm just kidding! You all are way to easy to scare! It's just a perfume some costume artist made." We all sighed and immediately left the movie theater, still in shock about what happened that day.

hammer and cup of water

I went to sleep perfectly fine but when I woke up, I was in a completely different place. It was a white room with only a table. I got up and walked towards the table to see a folded paper. When I unfolded it, it was a map! I followed the twelve steps listed and without knowing it, the journey took almost a week! By the time I finished, I was dehydrated and I need to find shelter because I could feel a bad storm coming. I was hoping that when I went to sleep tonight, I would wake up in the same white room but instead, I woke up in the same place I went to sleep at but a little to the left. I could barely get up to walk outside of my sheltered area let alone hunt for some food. I figured I was stuck here, in this unknown land so I grabbed a few things and started traveling so I could at least find some fresh water. Unfortunately I didn't find any water but I did find a glowing rock sitting outside of a cave in the middle of the Forrest. I walked into the cave holding the glowing rock. I saw beautiful drawings on the wall, and nasty looking bugs crawling around, i just wanted to get out of there but I knew i had to see what was at the end. I finally reached the end of the cave and there was nothing. I lost all hope in this cave so I dropped the rock in front of the rock wall. As I began walking away, the ground started shaking and the back wall started turning. I got sucked into the opening wall then blacked out, I don’t know what happened or what’s going on.
I finally woke up two hours later, I was in the same white room but something was different. I walked to the white table to see two objects sitting there, a golden hammer, and a cup of water.  I looked up at a white sign on the wall, ‘go ahead, make your choice. the outcome will decide whether you’re ready or not.’ I stood there for a few minutes, thinking, ready for what? I looked down at the two objects again. If I choose the water, I would no longer be dehydrated and would some what be healthy again. But if i choose the golden hammer, I could see it for a fortune and buy everything I need. But the mature thing would be to take the water so that I can show that I’m not selfish. But if I take the hammer, I would have riches and I most likely wouldn't have to worry about money, debts, or ever being dehydrated again. I picked up the object of my choice and the table disappeared. I took a few steps back and sipped the water. I started feeling dizzy so I drank some more of the refreshing water but what I didn't know was that it was slowly killing me. The liquid that was supposed to be water and keep me alive was actually water flavored poison, a whole cup of poison, now in my body. I dropped to the ground, the last drop of poison spilling out of the cup. Before my eyes shut completely, I saw three people in plain white suits and gloves on come running into the room, immediately halting beside me. They tightened their gloves, a guy picked up the cup with a towel carrying it out. Then I was next. I was on a stretcher type thing then my eyes closed and everything was gone.

I woke up, sweating.

george

George was a strong, high spirited junior in high school. He did track for his school, he was the main kid on the team. Everyone knew him, everyone loved him, he helped the team win almost every single tournament they did. With out him, their school wouldn't have been winning as much as they have been these past two years. He was hoping to run track until the end of senior year, but his dreams had now been crushed. His monthly check up with the doctors didn't quite go as planned... They told him he has a heart problem and could only run track until the end of this season, then he's done. Whenever George was mad or nervous he would tap his fingers on any surface that was around him and right now his fingers were tapping simultaneously on the doctors shelf of tools. He ran of the doctors office and got into his car and left. when he got home, he went straight to his room, he didn't eat dinner just straight to his room. His mom came running in less than five minutes later and asked what was wrong. He told her exactly what happened and he could see tears forming in her crystal blue eyes, he looked away. "He said I couldn't run track anymore after this season." She put her pale shaking hand up to her mouth and started crying. "I'll be champion. I'm going to win this year since it's my last year, my last time ever." Georges mom pulled him in for a hug, "I'm so proud of you." She smiled and left the room.
George had a track meeting today with his tea, he still hasn't told his coach about his heart condition because he didn't want to be treated differently. Georges team went out for a run but he sat this one out because he didn't want anything to happen to him or his heart before the final run this weekend. When everyone was done running and they were running, breathlessly back up to school to get changed and go home George got called over, "Hey George!" coach yelled. George jogged over to him, "Yeah, coach?" "You okay today? You're normally the first one on the track." "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired today." George said, lying. "Okay, just making sure. See you at the race Sunday?" "I'll be there." Then George went up to the school to get his car and went home. As soon as he sat down at the table, "How did your run go today? How did your coach take the whole heart thing?" Georges mom asked. "I didn't run today, trying to save myself for Sunday and I didn't tell him yet, I decided to tell him after I run." She smiled and nodded her head, "What do you want for dinner tonight?" "Are we going out to eat, or cooking?" George asked, "Out." "Chinese, I want the same as usual." She left and came back almost fifteen minutes later and they ate.
It was Sunday morning, the most hectic morning around Georges house since last years tournament, which he didn't win. George made sure to stay hydrated and skip out on the practice run which worried his coach a little. While waiting for his turn, George drank Gatorade and watched the others run. It was now his turn to run. He got set, the whistle went off and he darted. His heart was pounding, millions of thoughts running through his head, sweat dripping down his face. It seemed like he had to push himself harder and harder with each step he took, which wasn't normal for him. George was a whole lap ahead of everyone, his heart pounding faster and faster, his feet beating the ground quicker and quicker then he tore through the finishing mark. He made it, he was champion, he won! He immediately drank three cups of ice, cold water, his heart beat went back to normal after a few minutes and his mom, coach, and everyone was cheering him on. After the race, George found his coach, "Uh, coach? Can I talk to you?" They sat down, " So, I have a heart problem which means I won't be running track after today. I didn't want to tell you because I wanted to run this last race." He smiled, "That's true dedication."

you're fired

Tim woke up, happy to go to work for some reason. He ate a nice, healthy breakfast then did his daily morning routine then headed to work. He parked and walked into work, grabbing a strawberry iced sprinkled doughnut then headed to the office. His job for now, was organizing papers, running errands and making the schedule for every one's work day. He was ahead of the game today, finished everything early so he got ready to go home to his loving wife and cook dinner. He grabbed his bag and another doughnut to end his work day with. as soon as he was almost out of the building, his boss stopped him, “Hey Tim, can we talk?” Tim finished eating his delicious creme filled donut and put his bags down then walked into Chris’ office, “Yes?” Tim said with a smile on his face. “You’re fired.” The smile disappeared from Tim's face and he was now frowning. Tim looked at the floor, he wondered how he was going to tell his wife. They have been going through financial troubles since Tina, Tim's wife, got fired from her job two weeks ago. He walked out of the office, grabbing his bags and his stuff from the office, then left. He said to his wife that they would make it through, that he wouldn't fail but he did. He sat in his car for almost thirty minutes just thinking about how to tell his wife what happened. Tim finally went home and decided to take his wife out for dinner instead of cooking, they went to Olive Garden. While they were eating their entrees, Tim spoke, “Tina, you know I’ll always do my best to support us, to keep anything from happening to us, right?” She looked very worried, “Yeah...What’s wrong? What happened?” Tim grabbed Tina's hand and looked down at the table, “I got fired today and he couldn't tell me why or what happened.” He looked at Tina, “I’ve already scheduled a few job interviews for tomorrow though.” She smiled and spoke, “I scheduled two or more job interviews tomorrow, also.” Their main course got to the table and they ate and enjoyed the delicious, well cooked food. They ordered and ate their desert then headed home. They watched TV until they fell asleep.

The next day, they both got up and left their house by ten. Tim went to the first job interview and it was a success! They immediately gave him the job so he didn't even go to the second interview. As for Tina, she had to schedule three extra interviews to get one job, but it paid well. Tina was in a foul mood when she got home but Tim was excited and as happy as could be. Everything worked out great in the end because they both had jobs and could fully support themselves again without worrying about running out of money or anything happening to them or in general that they couldn't handle or afford to fix. Tim ended up getting promoted to assistant manager after only a few months at his new job because he was energetic and excited about work and always made sure that he got the job done and that he was on top of everything. Tina got a raise in her paycheck so that was pretty exciting too.

Cafe

I decided to go to my local cafe this morning to get some coffee and a muffin and edit some pictures. When I finally got my coffee and muffin I sat down at a two person seat so that no one would sit beside me. I pulled out my lap top and opened my photo editor. After only a few minutes of editing, I began feeling kind of uncomfortable like someone was staring at me so I turned around to see that there were two guys looking at me. I quickly turned back around and I grabbed my phone and called my friend to see if she wanted to hang out because I didn't want to be alone or leave alone. She said she couldn't come. when I hung up I threw my phone on the table then the two guys moved up two seats behind me. I tried to pretend like I didn't notice them but it actually made me quite nervous so I continued to edit some more photos. I ate the last bite of my muffin then drank the rest of my coffee and quickly packed up my laptop and charger and ran outside to my car. I wonder why they were following or watching me. Thankfully, my mom pulled up to the cafe randomly so that was pretty good for me. When she got out, I ran up to her and told her what happened. After I told her everything, she went over to the two creepy guys and started yelling at them. All they did was nod their heads so me and my mom continued. I went inside with her for about twenty minutes then I had to go. When I got to my house I immediately locked all my doors and ran up stairs to my room and turned my TV on. This feels really weird having someone follow me and I don't even know why they're following me or what I did to make them follow me. Almost an hour later I guess they found out where I lived because the same exact car pulled up to my house. I called the police as soon as their door opened and they arrived almost five minutes later. They took the two dudes off my porch so I could come outside to see what was happening. As soon as I walked outside, the shorter guy started yelling at me saying he was going to kill me. One of the police men told me to go back inside my house because it was no longer safe for me to be around the two guys.
About thirty minutes later one of the police man drove away with the two guys while the other one came and told me that they had been following me for past four months and that I should watch where I go for a few days just in case anything happens. I told him I wouldn't go anywhere in general unless I had to or if I was with my mom or someone i trusted. He left. I called my mom and told her everything that happened from the time I got home to when the police man left because I felt like she was the only one I could trust now. She told me to not leave my house at all that if I needed something she would get it. I said okay and hung up. I ran upstairs to my room and turned my TV down a little and got on my laptop. I checked my twitter, YouTube and anything else I normally get on. By the time I was done it was ten PM! I went ahead and took my shower and brushed my teeth but right as I was about to lay down and watch a movie, I heard some whispering in my closet, "You're in danger."  I heard it say. Then before I could even grab my phone to call anyone or to do anything someone jumped out with a baseball bat and slammed it across my head. I was barely conscious when they left but the only thing i remember hearing was the faint voice of a man saying that he told me he would kill me one way or another because of what I did. What did I do? That would be a mystery for ever now because I'm dead and no one can speak for me to say what I did because only I knew.
